HOW TO HAVE A HEALTHY LIVER AND BOWELS

THE ILEOCECAL VALVE The ileo-cecal valve is a one-way opening between the small and large intestine, and it should be just that, a one-way door to allow the contents of the small intestine to exit, not to allow the large intestine contents to back up. In most people in our society today, it works in a two-way capacity, which means it allows reflux from the large intestine back into the small intestine. A lot of structural problems originate from the ileo-cecal valve. In the 1920s, Sir Arboreth Lane, a surgeon in England, observed that the ileo-cecal valve in virtually everybody was tightened up, acting almost like a plug in the drain, causing a back-up in the human digestive tract. Dr. Lane used to operate on this valve, and had results far beyond what he expected. People's lives were transformed. Not only did their major illnesses disappear, but all their minor troubles went with them. That is pretty good value if you can operate on the gut, but unfortunately these changes didn't last because where you rejoin the bowel, it later restrictured.
DESIGNING THE TOILET The last thing Dr. Lane did before he died was redesign the toilet because he felt that lack of squatting was the very foundation to bowel problems. And I am absolutely convinced that this is the case. Human beings were created to squat. A hundred and fifty years ago Thomas Crapper came along. He was a plumber and he had no idea about human anatomy, but he set the standard of modern day commodes. However, redesigning the toilet cannot be the only answer - otherwise everybody who squats would have good bowels. Maybe if we had been squatting for generations, we would be more in touch with priorities because the pelvis is the ground of the human body, and if we don't squat, we don't ground the nervous system and we become mentally overactive.
MUCOUS IN THE INTESTINE If we don't have good elimination, how can we expect our bowels to function the way they are supposed to? The gut is backing up, and the small intestine has food sitting in it which it was never designed to deal with. It is supposed to be an organ of absorption, not an organ of contents. We are supposed to be eating food which should be transiting through the body; the food is not supposed to be sitting there. With some people it's 36, 48, 72 hours. So a mucous lining is formed as a buffer for food sitting where it isn't supposed to. I get people coming into my office who haven't had a bowel movement for three days in a row, and they wonder why they're sick. In our society today, medical doctors don't have any standard for health. They think if you go every other day, that's your rhythm. Bad rhythm! The cleansing of the mucous lining on the gut wall is probably the single most profound health transformation anybody can make. 2,500 years ago, Hippocrates, the father of medicine, used to tell the citizens of Athens about the need to have a bowel movement after every meal. That was the standard by which health, happiness and freedom from disease could be assured.
REVITALIZING FOOD WITH CHLOROX On top of that we eat dead food. We are living in big buildings and cities, and by the time we get the food there is no life force in it. A lot of the organic produce is grown in the basin of southern California near where I live, and the air quality there is not good. So even organic food is not good. Hazel Purcells who was 106 years old when I knew her, said that we have to clean up our food, energize it and give it life force. She used to place her food in a bath made with water and Chlorox. Some people advocate using hydrogen peroxide to wash food, but Hazel said not to use anything but Chlorox because it would not work. Chlorox and water is a tremendous oxidizing agent, tremendous detoxifier, and that is exactly what it does with proteins, vegetables and fruits. You are getting rid of all the pollutants and parasites. If pesticides permeate the whole vegetable you have to draw them out, and that is what Chlorox does. It makes no sense to go on a parasite cleanse and then eat food that is going to give you parasites.
THE CHLOROX FOOD BATH Ideally, separate the fruits and vegetables, and separate the protein and eggs from everything else. Use half a teaspoon of Chlorox per gallon of water, soak the food for 10 or 20 minutes, and then rinse it. I also put 10 to 15 drops of a homeopathic remedy in the rinse called Chemfree, which has homeopathic Chlorox in it to pull out any residual Chlorox in the rinse water. Chlorox is not sold in Canada. It is an American product. (Note: in Canada we have Javex which is also sodium hypochlorite like Chlorox. Do not use Chlorox or Javex with perfumes or additives).
PARASITES We all know that raw organic food is life giving and wonderful, but organic food can be the highest source of parasites when chicken manure is used as a fertilizer. Even though it is very unsanitary, it is used as a major source of fertilizer in organic produce in the United States. In addition, it is very high in nitrogen which allows plants to grow very quickly, but they lack trace minerals.
BIODYNAMIC PRODUCE About 50% of the produce in New Zealand is biodynamic. Biodynamic produce is incredible. In biodynamics, they use alfalfa and cow manure and compost and that is tremendous. If we had organics like that we wouldn't need trace minerals nearly to the extent that we do.
JUICES AND COFFEE ENEMAS About three years ago I started looking for answers. I have always been familiar with juice pressing. Have you heard of Gordon Walker? He lived to be about 100 or 120. He said if we are not getting the nutrients in our food, we have to go to pressed juice just to get the essence out of the produce, because the produce is so deficient, even organic food. Walker designed the Norwalk juicer, then Gerson took the Norwalk juicer and patterned a whole therapy around it, along with coffee enemas, potassium, enzymes, hydrochloric, B12, etc. I have always been kind of closed-minded about coffee enemas. I said coffee is not supposed to be in the bowels. But I opened up my mind, and the day after starting the juice pressing, I took one coffee enema. Lo and behold the mucous lining started coming off my bowel, and I wasn't even fasting, I wasn't cleansing; I wasn't doing anything different but drinking pressed juice and the coffee enema. I had been on Jensen's tissue cleansing program, lemon fasts, taking psyllium and that never happened before.
THE LIVER CLEANSE Take a whole lemon, treat it in your Chlorox, and dice it up along with the skin. Use one tablespoon of olive oil or flax seed oil which is a better source of fatty acids. Joanna Budwig talked about essential fatty acids for years, and cured all sorts of conditions with essential fatty acids. But if you use flax seed oil, it should be refrigerated and have vitamin E in it to keep it from going rancid. Use one tablespoon of olive oil or one teaspoon of flax seed oil, although you might want to start with a little bit less because of the state that most people's livers are in. Then add one cup of water, the pulp from one orange, and mix them all together in a blender on high speed for about a minute. The skin from the lemon emulsifies the oils so that the liver can absorb them. If we take the olive oil and lemon, we can improve the whole nature of the liver which is supposed to be so much more than it is today. It is like an in-line oil filter separating the gut from the rest of the body. The pressed juices and the lemon and oil have a great effect in restoring the proper pH to your body.
pH BALANCE What is happening in our society is that microbes are raging. They are raging because we have been on the wrong track. Antibiotics are a perfect example. A hundred years ago, Louis Pasteur, the father of bacteriology said that bacteria are nothing: the pH of the body is everything. What have we been doing for the last 50 or 60 years? Antibiotics. Everybody's plumbing is backed up and it's easy for these microorganisms to grow.
pH balance is so important in the body. If we take too many acids into the body, and we don't detoxify them, the acids go into the connective tissues and into the intracellular spaces, and we get a condition known as acidosis. When that happens we get arthritic, and this is happening to many people. The body has to buffer the acids in the connective tissue, so the blood stream alkalinizes. When the blood stream alkalinizes and oxidizes, the microorganisms party at our expense. They thrive. There is a theory in Europe called the Pleomorphic Theory of Disease (Gaston Naessens) which says that we create our own superstrains of microorganisms. We start with protids and they evolve into higher forms which are the precursors to cancer. They are intrinsic. That is not to say we don't get extrinsic viruses that are very problematic, but most of it is created by us. If we put alkaline elements into our body through fresh juices, we detoxify and change that acid pH in our body. Ideally, the first morning urine should be 6.8. The best time to measure it is the first morning urine. The saliva should be 6.4.
ALKALINE FOODS The more energized the food is, the more alkaline (or less acidic) we get. Eighty per cent of our food should be alkaline. Most people don't eat this way, so it makes sense to use another alkaline source like beets, goat whey, or vegetable powders that taste good. One of the products I like is Blue Green Algae. Blue Green Algae and acidophilus are two nutrients we can take to get the proper blood pH and they also help detoxification. The product I use is Cell Tech. I used to take Chlorella, but I think Cell Tech is better. Cat's Claw is also something I encourage every one of my patients to take.
CHOLESTEROL AND HYDROGENATED FATS INCLUDING MARGARINE The shocking truth about cholesterol in one sentence is the gut overwhelming the liver, the liver bogging down, not being able to handle cholesterol, and the cholesterol bogging down the heart. It's that simple. What has western society done? They have gone and made margarine which is ten times worse than butter ever could be. We have got hydrogenated fats everywhere these days. If you buy processed food, you are getting hydrogenated fats in everything. And hydrogenated fats just destroy the liver. Cooked meat destroys the liver. Pasteurized dairy products destroy the liver. If you are going to eat protein I think everybody should be heading towards more of a vegetarian diet. If you are going to eat meat, clean it with Chlorox and eat it on the rare side. There are a lot of people who can't handle raw meat but that is really the only way to eat it. Raw milk, especially goats milk, is the only way to drink milk. Don't drink pasteurized milk.
REVERSE OSMOSIS WATER Water is very important to our health. The only system that will modify water properly is reverse osmosis with a carbon pre- or post-filter.
LOVE VERSUS MATERIALISM Unconditional love and acceptance is the most healing force in the universe. For many generations love hasn't been a priority in our lives, and families these days cannot give a sufficient sense of unconditional love and acceptance to their children. Because we have been missing our real priorities, we inherit past generational lack of love, and children don't get that sense of security they need. I honestly think that the more we can get away from material society, the more we can get down to basics. I think the United States has been the material mania of the civilized world. Materialism stands in contrary nature to love, and one of the reasons we have gotten so materialistic is that we are lacking love.
